Traders using the local food waste and recycling service wanted to know where their waste got treated. I took a group to Avonmouth to see the facility at GenEco where it’s turned into soil conditioner and also generates electricity and heat. reported in Bistol Local Food newsletterPiece about road safety and recent police and council actions to promote ‘respect’ among different road users, from Bishopston MattersI helped residents organise a session with the police to carry out Community Speed Watch. This monitoring shows how well traffic is maintaining the designated speed limits on a road. With the 20mph zone streets should be safer. Speeding cars will be sent a warning letter by the police, and this helps us move towards a time when traffic sticks to the speed limit. See http://www.bristol20mph.co.uk for information.
